What Underwritten is
Underwritten is a publication. Each week the desk screens small businesses listed for sale, researches the few that survive the screen and publishes five with a verdict, in three depths: a free edition, a Premium file and a Pro file.
We are not a business broker, an agent, an adviser or a marketplace. We do not represent any seller or buyer, we do not introduce parties, we do not negotiate and we are not party to any transaction. We take no fee, commission or referral payment from a seller, a broker or a buyer. We are paid by readers only.
Whose figures are whose
Every figure we publish is labelled. A figure that comes from the listing is the seller's and is marked as the seller's. A figure we computed is our estimate and is marked as ours. Our estimates are published as ranges and a range never collapses to its best case: the conservative end leads.
Identity, where we show it, is our resolution from independent public signals, not the broker's disclosure, and it carries a confidence figure. Treat the confidence as what it says.
Not investment advice
Nothing on this site is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, not buy, bid or make an offer. A verdict is the desk's opinion on the research record at the time of publication. Any decision to pursue a business is yours, with your own advisers and your own diligence. See the disclaimer.
Subscriptions
- Monthly. Premium and Pro are monthly subscriptions, billed in advance in euros. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay; VAT, where it applies, is shown at checkout before you confirm.
- Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next charge; your access runs to the end of the period already paid for.
- Launch pricing. An introductory discount, where offered, applies for the number of months stated at checkout and then the standard monthly price applies.
- EU and UK consumers: 14-day right of withdrawal. You may withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of the first payment by writing to desk@underwrittenlistings.com. If you asked for immediate access and used the paid file during those 14 days, we may keep a proportionate amount for the days used; the rest is refunded within 14 days of your notice.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Your account and the files
Access is personal. You sign in with a link sent to your email; there is no password. You may read, print and keep the files for your own use. You may not resell, republish, scrape or redistribute the files or the research record, or share your access with others. We may suspend an account used that way.
The research record for a deal reflects what we could establish at the time. Listings change, sell and disappear. We may correct, update or withdraw a file at any time.
Liability
We publish in good faith and with a method we show. We do not warrant that any figure, identity or verdict is complete or correct, and we accept no liability for a loss arising from reliance on the publication. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms. The date at the top is the date of the current version; a material change is announced in the edition email. Questions go to desk@underwrittenlistings.com.
